Galeristin Sarah Kronsbein<\/span> zeigt Wearable Art der US-amerikanischen Modedesignerin und Ku\u0308nstlerin Crystal Paris ab dem 15. Mai 2025 im Art Bunker Gr\u00fcnwald bei M\u00fcnchen \u2013 nur nach Voranmeldung.<\/h3>\n

Zum ersten Mal pr\u00e4sentiert die Galerie Kronsbein die weltweit gefeierte amerikanische Modedesignerin und Ku\u0308nstlerin Crystal Paris in Mu\u0308nchen. Sie gilt als einer der Stars der Wearable Art-Bewegung, die Schneiderhandwerk mit multimedialer Kunst verknu\u0308pft. Die M\u00fcnchener Galeristin Sarah Kronsbein entdeckte die Ku\u0308nstlerin vor einem Jahr und war sofort fasziniert: \u201eIhre Handschrift ist unverwechselbar. In der Art, wie Crystal Paris Kunst und Mode kombiniert und die verschiedensten Kulturen und Stile mixt, trifft sie einen Nerv der Zeit\u201c.<\/p>\n

Mode und Kunst verschmelzen miteinander, Mode wird Kunst und Kunst Mode. Bereits 1987 wurde im neuseel\u00e4ndischen Wellington WOW gegru\u0308ndet, \u201eWorld of Wearable Art\u201c, ein j\u00e4hrlicher internationaler Wettbewerb fu\u0308r Kreative, die exaltiert verschwenderische Kostu\u0308me und Schmuck aus extravaganten Materialien entwerfen.<\/p>\n

Eine \u00e4hnlich bemerkenswerte Initiative riefen 2016 Tina Knowles, Beyonc\u00e9s Mutter, und der amerikanische Schauspieler Richard Lawson ins Leben: das WACO (Where Art Can Occur) Theatre Center in Los Angeles. Die Institution, zu deren prominenten Botschaftern auch Beyonc\u00e9 und Solange Knowles sowie Supermoderatorin Oprah Winfrey z\u00e4hlen, unterstu\u0308tzt Ku\u0308nstler der afrikanischen Diaspora. Auch Crystal Paris hatte 2018 und 2019 Auftritte bei der Gala: Beyonc\u00e9 wu\u0308rdigte sie als \u201eaufstrebendes Talent\u201c, hatte sie doch bereits 2017 den \u201eEmerging Talent Award\u201c der gemeinnu\u0308tzigen Organisation NBAF fu\u0308r Ku\u0308nstler mit afrikanischen Wurzeln gewonnen.<\/p>\n

Inzwischen ist die Ku\u0308nstlerin, 1989 in Augusta in Georgia geboren, mit ihren Collagen, interaktiven Installationen und phantastisch-eklektischen Kleiderkreationen international bekannt. Von 2015 bis 2018 studierte sie am Savannah College of Art and Design, 2012 startete sie ihr Label Crystal Paris Designs und im selben Jahr zeigte das Visions Art Museum, San Diego, ihre Soloshow Ethereal. 2023 folgten die Einzelausstellung Unveiling of our True Essence im National Center for Civil and Human Rights Atlanta und eine Kooperation mit LVMH Culture House auf der Art Basel Miami.<\/p>\n

Am treffendsten kann das facettenreiche Spektrum von Crystal Paris performativer Wearable Art als \u201eKunst mit einer humanistischen Botschaft\u201c charakterisiert werden: \u201eMit meinen Werken erz\u00e4hle ich Geschichten von Menschlichkeit, Identit\u00e4t und Verbindung\u201c, erkl\u00e4rt die Ku\u0308nstlerin. \u201eIch m\u00f6chte R\u00e4ume schaffen, in denen wir uns zugeh\u00f6rig fu\u0308hlen und in denen Unterschiede zu Gemeinsamkeiten werden.\u201c<\/p>\n

Fu\u0308r den Art Bunker Gru\u0308nwald entwirft Paris eine spielerisch-theatralische Choreographie, die sich von Raum zu Raum entfaltet. Im Mittelpunkt stehen gro\u00dfformatige Bildcollagen, fu\u0308r die sie Motive aus Kunstgeschichte und Popkultur mit Accessoires beru\u0308hmter Modemarken zu assoziativen Montagen mixt.<\/p>\n

Crystal Paris inszeniert mit ihrer Ausstellung eine Art bewusstseinserweiternde Reise, die die Teilnehmer mit einem L\u00e4cheln verlassen sollen: Motion und Emotion, Bewegung und Empfindung werden eins.<\/p>\n
